| The Lake
George High School Health Office page was one of the first webpages that was
worked on, and actually was up and running for any extended length
of time. This page had some interesting features, as well as
some parts of it that were very time consuming to create. |

The most time consuming portion was scanning in all of the
health-related forms that were to be made ready for printing, which
is a good part of the content of the site. All it took was
some work in Photoshop, and the images were optimized for
downloading. All the forms that needed to be filled out at one
time or another were available for printing. |

Some of my standard design features that I constantly incorporate
into pages started to arise out of the creation of this page.
It's nothing fantastic to look at compared to today's standards, but
it was a good place to start to get off the ground. The
features in this page include Javascript mouseovers for the
navigation buttons, the use of tables, and the ability to conform to
different sized screen resolutions. The interesting thing
about the mouseover script on this page was that there were three
images; the one that you see normally, the one you see when your
mouse gets put over the image area, and the one you see when you
actually click on it. The third was really only visible on
slower connections, such as dial-up, for on broadband, the page
changes too fast after a mouse click for the effect to actually be
seen. That is one feature I never used again. Nice idea,
yes, but ultimately not very useful. |

There have been some minor content updates since the page first went
online, but other than that, it's pretty much remained the
same. It is a page geared toward content and actual use,
rather than fancy eye candy. So, there it stands. |
