"A Girl Named Tex" - Artist Statement

This music video project was a reasonably time consuming endeavor. Taking the movie "The Quick and the Dead" and "A Girl Named Tex" by Trocadero. It was challenging, to say the least, to put these two pieces together in some coherent fashion considering "Tex" is portrayed as the heroine in the film, but the "bad girl" in the song. But, I was quite pleased with the way I was able to edit the film and change its meaning, so to speak.

I actually won a small award for this piece for "Best Menu Screen" for the screen with the "play" button. I was a bit miffed about that because that was actually the last thing I did, which only took about 20 minutes. Editing all the film...days. Oh well.

This project was more of an exercise in video editing than flash, although there was a good deal to do with encoding and compression within flash.  Unfortunately, I wasn't quite able to find a happy medium with filesize and quality (this was the absolute last thing I worked with, so time was a bit of an issue).  As a result, the download for this is a hefty 45MB for about 3:30 minutes.  At least the quality is pretty good.
