As an alternative to closing school, plans have also been made to delay the opening of school by one hour if necessary. A one hour delayed opening means that students will be picked up at their bus stops one hour later than usual; the school buildings will be open at 8:45AM instead of the usual time of 7:45AM.
Parents are encouraged to develop a plan for their children in the event a parent should not be able to be home at the time of early dismissal. If special child arrangements are necessary, the parents should inform the child and notify the school.
When school must be closed for reason of an emergency or hazardous driving conditions, the official announcement will be broadcast over the following local radio and television stations:
